According to China Tungsten Online, the price trend of China's molybdenum products in February 2025 was relatively stable. Under the influence of many uncertain factors, the price trends of molybdenum raw materials and molybdenum chemical products were slightly different: the price trend of molybdenum raw materials was slightly lowered, while the price of molybdenum chemical products was temporarily stable. In February, the price of molybdenum concentrate dropped by about 20 yuan/ton-degree, a decrease of 0.56%; the price of ferromolybdenum dropped by about 3,000 yuan/ton, a decrease of 1.29%; the price of molybdenum oxide dropped by about 20 yuan/ton-degree, a decrease of 0.54%.
From the positive aspects, firstly, the international molybdenum price rose in a fluctuating manner in February, which, to some extent, enhanced the confidence of the domestic molybdenum market in holding prices firm. Secondly, the market demand in this month was robust, with the total quantity of ferromolybdenum in steel bidding exceeding 12,000 tons. Regarding the negative factors, first, due to the continuous progress of science and technology, the production costs of some molybdenum manufacturers have decreased and their production speed has accelerated, which has imposed certain resistance to the price increase of molybdenum products. Second, the price of molybdenum products has been in a sideways trend for a long time recently, and many of the previously accumulated favorable factors have been gradually absorbed by the market, making it hard to further drive up prices.

In February, the prices of most molybdenum products in China remained flat month-on-month and rose year-on-year. Among them, the average price of molybdenum concentrate was 3,566 yuan/ton, down 0.89% from the previous month and up 6.99% from the previous year; the average price of ferromolybdenum was 230,111 yuan/ton, down 1.19% from the previous month and up 4.27% from the previous year; the average price of molybdenum oxide was 3,666 yuan/ton, down 0.87% from the previous month and up 6.57% from the previous year; the average price of sodium molybdate was 161,000 yuan/ton, flat from the previous month and up 0.53% from the previous year; the average price of ammonium tetramolybdate was 224,000 yuan/ton, flat from the previous month and up 2.53% from the previous year; the average price of ammonium heptamolybdate was 228,000 yuan/ton, flat from the previous month and up 2.63% from the previous year; the average price of molybdenum powder was 425 yuan/kg, flat from the previous month and down 1.62% from the previous year; the average price of molybdenum bars was 460 yuan/kg, flat from the previous month and down 0.43% from the previous year.

In January and February, the prices of most molybdenum products in China rose year-on-year. Among them, the average price of molybdenum concentrate was 3,581 yuan/ton, up 8.12% year-on-year; the average price of ferromolybdenum was 231,457 yuan/ton, up 5.23% year-on-year; the average price of molybdenum oxide was 3,681 yuan/ton, up 7.98% year-on-year; the average price of sodium molybdate was 161,000 yuan/ton, up 1.29% year-on-year; the average price of ammonium tetramolybdate was 224,000 yuan/ton, up 3.08% year-on-year; the average price of ammonium heptamolybdate was 228,000 yuan/ton, up 3.07% year-on-year; the average price of molybdenum powder was 425 yuan/kg, down 1.16% year-on-year; the average price of molybdenum bars was 460 yuan/kg, flat year-on-year.
