According to data compiled by Chinatungsten Online from the General Administration of Customs, in April 2025, China's imports of tungsten products (excluding carbide tools and tungsten halogen lamps) totaled 1,101.72 tons, representing a year-on-year decrease of 0.43% compared to April 2024 and a month-on-month decrease of 0.68% compared to March 2025. The value of these imports was 156 million yuan, reflecting a year-on-year decrease of 0.64% and a month-on-month increase of 8.73%.
Among these, in April 2025, China's imports included:
876.79 tons of tungsten ores and concentrates, a year-on-year increase of 7.18% and a month-on-month increase of 2.70%;
20 kilograms of tungsten trioxides, a year-on-year decrease of 44.44% and a month-on-month decrease of 96.45%;
1 kilogram of other tungsten oxides and hydroxides, nes, compared to zero imports in the same period last year, with no change month-on-month;
60.36 tons of tungsten hexafluoride, a year-on-year increase of 54.67% and a month-on-month increase of 31.19%;
144.32 tons of sodium tungstate, a year-on-year decrease of 37.96% and a month-on-month decrease of 26.38%;
209 kilograms of ammonium metatungstate;
14.57 tons of carbides of tungsten, a year-on-year increase of 33.48% and a month-on-month increase of 870.35%;
37 kilograms of ferro-tungsten, compared to only 1 kilogram in the same period last year, with no imports recorded in March;
1,391 kilograms of tungsten powders, a year-on-year decrease of 50.97% and a month-on-month decrease of 83.53%;
949 kilograms of unwrought tungsten, including bars and rods obtained simply by sintering, a year-on-year increase of 285.77%, with zero imports in March;
477 kilograms of tungsten wire, a year-on-year increase of 31.77% and a month-on-month increase of 50.47%;
499 kilograms of bars and rods (excluding those obtained simply by sintering), profiles, plates, sheets, strips, and foils, a year-on-year decrease of 38.62% and a month-on-month decrease of 19.39%.
Additionally, in April 2025, China's imports included:
64.04 tons of knives and cutting blades for machines or mechanical appliances, made of coated or plated metal carbides, a year-on-year increase of 5.04% and a month-on-month increase of 17.58%;
55.30 tons of other knives and cutting blades for machines or mechanical appliances, made of metal carbides, a year-on-year increase of 17.23% and a month-on-month increase of 5.31%.
